Send your message and support to Bill & Kathy

From looking at the message on the main web page from B&K, it would seem that the rumour about MDJ18 being 3 days may be correct. Whilst I understand that Moondance is a commercial venture, and tough decisions may have to be made on the festival's format, I have to admit that I for one would love it to stay the way it is at present. Perhaps that is a biased viewpoint, but even with 4 days I never get around to seeing all the wonderful friends I have made over the years. So, I'm adding my vote, maybe it will have an influence maybe not, it certainly won't be stopping me coming back no matter what. :D

I vote for 6 days...

Monday - Saturday

8-)

Bill and crew can figure out the bands the week before... I don't care.

But if it goes back to 3 days, it won't seem like a vacation anymore... just a long, expensive weekend.

Sizzlin' 17 was my first Jam. I actually thought that the length of the Jam was just perfect. 5 days of camping and 4 days of Jamming was an amazing summer vacation for me. In my line of work I also deal with a lot of businesses and help them with their business processes, and I realize how much extra expense there is for staffing, bands, VIP drink/food costs etc for 1 more day. If the Jam isn't making money, it won't be around for long. I loved the 4 day Jam. Even if the Wednesday had just been all cover bands, that would have been perfect. Black Valentine rocked!

I travelled over 1000 miles to get to the Jam, so having 4 days of relaxing, Jamming, drinking was a ton of fun. Will I go again if the Jam is only 3 days? Yes. I would expect to see the price of the VIP tickets to go down a little due to 1 less day of food/drink. Although if Bill and Kathy were to sign Kiss, Judas Priest, Ozzy then I'd pay the full VIP price that I did this year ;)

Bill and Kathy - it's your event. I sincerely thank you for all of the hard work you put into putting on the Jam - I had an awesome time at my first Jam. I'll be back. But if possible, could you keep the 5 day camping option? Seriously consider having just a regional bands night on Weds (even if VIP isn't open and it is just general admission). I travel a long way to the Jam. I'd rather not travel 1000 miles each way for a 72 hour jam...

Cheers! Thanks!

I hope it works -- I can't even stand the idea of the Jam being shorter, right now the very thought of that makes me just want to cry. Bill said it's because they had the smallest crowd in 5 years and they need the big $$ to get big acts in. I agree, they needed that ONE BIG NAME to get people in, but told him it may've been because of how close Jam 17 fell with the Fourth of July. Keep on begging. Keep on asking. Make a good point, maybe it'll work! Will it work, I dunno. I told Bill I'll support whatever they do, I just hope the do the right thing.

Please, Bill & Kathy, keep it 4-days!! And keep 5-day camping alive as well!

When Bill was at my campsite tues nite for the brew/wine tasting he told us he was thinking of going 3 days. So heard it directly from him. Of course, we will all love it even if it goes shorter, but really 5 days of camping is perfect! And 4 days of bands. So will keep hoping for things to stay the way they are.

I'm sure we'll still be attending, but dropping down to only 3 days will sure put a damper on alot of people who plan Moondance as theiy yearly summer vacation. I could manage with only 3 days of bands (it'll be tough, but I think I can do it), but FOR ALL THAT IS HOLEY, DON'T TAKE AWAY OUR 5 DAYS OF CAMPING!! By the time we get things set up & finally (somewhat) organized it'll already be time to tear down. If I had the "Power of Persuasion" I'd even add on Monday for the Early, Earlybird Camping to make up for the loss of a day of music. That just means we'd have to visit the Pickle Factory on Sunday, but what the heck, I'd be willing to make the sacrifice

If the reason for taking away a day is that it's too hard to find bands, I think that the easy solution is to look at the acts that are touring each and every year and doing hundreds of dates - they must be very easy to book!

FireHouse, Night Ranger, Eddie Money, Starship, 38 Special, Rick Springfield, Survivor, and even KC and the Sunshine band (for a fun departure) - to name a few. They aren't very expensive and they are constantly touring year round.
