In 1977, the band released the live album Live at the El Mocambo.
That show that night was a charity event they co-headlined with a band labeled as The Cockroaches.
The Cockroaches were actually…The Rolling Stones!

My Take:
April Wine is one band I have wanted to see at the Jam for several years. I really didn’t know a lot about the band until people on this board mentioned them. I ended up buying their greatest hits and I was surprised at the number of songs I knew by them. “Just Between You and Me” and “Sign of the Gypsy Queen” will be known by most jammers. However, my favorite is “Oowatanite,” a song I was actually introduced to by one of my former high school students. It is a great guitar-driven, sing-along song. Since they normally open their shows with this song, it will be a great start to Moondance Jam 21.
The music brought me to Moondance Jam. The people bring me back.

All I ever listened to of April Wine was their "Nature of the Beast" album (over & over & over again)... have both the cassette & CD versions!!! I think I was a little disappointed when they played at the Medina because they didn't play a TON from that album like I thought they would (or maybe "the Captain" had nipped me too much by the time they took the stage)! I LOVE their "Roller" song (maybe I've mentioned that)!!! ;)

The Cockroaches story is funny!!!

One of the songs that I always got a kick out of when I was growing up was "If You See Kay" (Say that song title out loud :) )

(Ooops - had to edit the post. I had pasted wrong link..)
