Oh my gosh! You guys are so funny and I never thought that people actually read my post. I'm so happy :D I'll give you all an extra 30 points for correcting my mistakes. "I'm definately not missing last year". I know I wrote that before I started work and an FYI . . . I'm not a morning person. Therefore . . . I'm not ashamed and laughing at my mistakes :D

On this Memorial Day.. a very sharp, crisp salute goes out to all of the men and women soldiers who stand ready at a moments notice to defend our Country's Freedoms against all foes be they foriegn or domestic and a somber yet sincere wish for a peaceful rest goes out to all of the men and women soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the Freedom of this Country.

God Bless the Troops of The United States of America.

Happy Memorial Day to all! Weather better than expected. Could be warmer, but who's complaining.

Quiet on here. Unacceptable. We gotta do something about that. ;)

Didn't get my beer today. Took care of that on Saturday :D A make-your-own 6-pack, plus some Samuel Smith Nut Brown and a Rogue Juniper Ale. Oh yeah, and the latest Summit Unchained series, a dunkelweizen. Not bad, still a few of those left. I made a note to look for the Sam Smith Tad Porter that petch53 mentioned the other day, but they didn't have it. In my stressful, grueling, dreadful and time consuming efforts to try as many different beers as possible, I have become quite fond of Brau Brothers. From the tiny little town of Lucan, MN, population 220. Not just to give a plug for the little Minnesota guy, but in my honest opinion they're right up there with the very best for what they've been cranking out lately. The Bancreagie Peated Scotch Ale is one of my overall favorites in the running.

Had the whole clan of beers sitting on the counter that day, mingling with each other. Sat down to watch TV when suddenly I heard a raucous in the kitchen, clanking glass. I sprung from the couch, rounded the corner to the kitchen to find Sam Adams and Sam Smith, rumbling and duking it out with each other. Trash can knocked over and everything. So I had to play referee. Pulled them apart, and I says to the boys, "CHILL! You get too agitated you're gonna blow your top! Besides, this battle was decided over 230 years ago! Get with the times!" They agreed. Exchanged some label ink with a hug, and moments later they were playing frisbee with a bottle cap. All was right with the world again. Very heartwarming.

I have to start brewing again soon, have some beers ready by mid-summer, for certain occasions ;) This week possibly. And, I could use my freezer stocked. Some know, others don't, but I have a neighbor down below that's straight out of a stoner flick. Imagination can't write the stuff I've witnessed with this guy. We get along in a neighborly way, he lends me DVD's to watch, etc. Once he found out I brewed beer and had 15-20 gallons of beer in stock at any given moment, he began stopping by quite a bit to top off. There'd be a knock, peephole check, open the door, and there he'd be, just annihilated, swaying, with his square plastic popcorn container in one hand and 'payment' in the other. Payment has been anything from his freezer: package of chicken breasts, frozen pizza, 5-pound pork roast, hamburger....whatever he had that his mom bought him. "Hey maaaan. You think I could get some beer? Got some tasty burger for ya." I'm not totally crooked, just a little bent, so I say "sure!". There was a bit of moral conscious on my end about what I was doing, but the guy has demonstrated control and sobriety during the times he was employed, so not a ton of guilt....just a little ;) I just wonder how many days he makes a dinner plan, goes to his freezer, and wonders what the hell happened to his food. :D

Cheers! Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

haha that's great Dougie!!

We had a fun weekend camping. Went by in about 2 seconds, it felt like. We really like the low-key attitude of the campground we go to, so that was nice. And we eat like kings, salmon, ribeyes, yumm. We didn't drink as much as a regular weekend but that may be cuz part of the time we weren't home, and we slept in a lot! Nothing like hearing the r##n and thunder from inside the comfy warm camper :D

And we saw oooooooodles of ducks & ducklings, and even a goose family too. Such fun!

Cheers... 51 day!!!
