Mellancamp

I think JM would go over big in Minnesota - he's another mid-westerner. Plus he has a boatload of songs that everyone knows. This just in(2:45 pm 3/28/12): John Mellancamp will be doing a small Canadian tour starting in June and hopefully ending at MDJ!!!!

I am absolutely certain that John Mellancamp would pack the house and you are absolutely correct in saying that he has a boatload of hits, more like an aircraft carrier full of hits.

I would really enjoy having the opportunity to see the legendary John Mellancamp.

Out, Paddy

I saw him when he was at the Fargodome with Donovan. Even got to meet him after the show. Got our "group" picture with him but the girl who took the picture of us all STILL hasn't sent the picture to the rest of the group.

Was able to see Mellencamp in November 2010, close to the beginning of the No Better Than This Tour. This tour was in smaller venues; the one in Minneapolis was at the Orpheum. Started off with a movie of how the new record was made then he had 3 " acts of music" the new album (think early 50's rock), acoustic, and then a mix of older stuff (think Scarecrow). Very good concert for me, but some where disappointed. I think more so on his new stuff, they didn't care for it.
So as much as I would love to see him jam to some of the older stuff on the MDJ stage, not sure if that is really what he wants to do anymore based on the last tour; except for maybe Farm Aid.

I hope he would have a change of heart though.

Just heard (2:45 pm 3/28/12) on FOX 107.9 a classic rock station in Fargo : John Mellancamp will be doing a small Canadian tour starting in June. Call me crazy, but isn't Minnesota kinda close to Canada? One thing for certain John Mellancamp is a "headliner", but if the $$$$ is right maybe he would play 9:00 pm.
