Moondance Jam... still on?

Postby trekguy » Thu Oct 07, 2010 5:02 pm

I know this has been a difficult time for all associated with Moondance, and I hope this isn't too soon to ask, or doesn't disrespectful, but I'm just wondering if Moondance Jam is still a go. I know there were a few years awhile back when it was not a given that there was going to be another one... we'd get the word on the last night of the Jam. Anyway, I haven't heard or read anything, or maybe I just missed it, but many of us plan this event months ahead, and have already purchased tickets, so I am just askin'. :)

Hi trekguy... nothing's been said really tho one Jammer told me another Jammer saw an interview just after Bill passed away in which the family stated the Jam will go on, it's what Bill would've wanted... tho nothing's been said for certain. I'm sure it's all still too new. Two weeks ago tomorrow already and it still doesn't seem real.

Take care.

I'm still planning on buying my tickets before the December 15th price increase. I'm feeling confident that the Jam will live on, even though Bill left us early. Bill and Kathy have created an amazing Moondance Jam Family, that year after year have a family reunion each July in Walker MN. I figure that for many years to come, we will all continue to attend the reunions, but without 1 very important family member.

We already have purchased our tickets... we always get them early. Moondance has grown into quite a production, and it would be easy to assume that it would continue. But also, it would be totally understandable if the family and community decided that it would be just too difficult. My guess is that it will carry on, but some official word would be nice.

I've always wondered what the Walker area's general opinion was of Moondance... I mean, do they look forward to it? Do they dread it? Do they like the added cash flow, but dislike the hassle and extra traffic?? Or, is it mostly self-contained, and not really much of a factor to the area in general?
