How bout an artist announcement?
Reality is only an illusion that occurs due to a lack of alcohol.

I know this happens every year, everbody starts to wonder when the announcements will happen and I am no exception. Just over lunch today, I looked around at other regional country festivals and these acts have already been signed
Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Lady Antebellum, Jason Michael Carroll, Kenny Chesney, Rodney Atkins, Neal McCoy (2x) Heidi Newfield, Blake Shelton, Little Big Town, Jack Ingram, Darryl Worley, Eli Young Band, , Billy Currington, Trailer Choir, Keith Urban, Eric Church, Darius Rucker and Pat Green.

Yes, some of these have been here already and some are out of the financial feasibility, but others are right in the ball bark.

Please understand, this is not a slam on Bill and Kathy, they are great people and I love coming here every year for both Jams.

But yes this is frustration towards their Production Team, step up to the plate and promote the best country festival around. It is one of the best, and you know that...Get out there and promote it. You don't need to sign huge headliners and fill in afterwards, just start filling. I don't think Jack Ingram or Little Big Town would be disappointed if they were told that the 11pm slot would not be going to them....I think they know they are not at the level of Sugarland or Chesney. But start somewhere, even its just announcing the opening band on Wednesday; 32 Below comes to mind.

And I'm not saying this just from a fans point of view , lets not forget the financial standpoint of Moondance Jam. Wouldn't it be better to have more pre ticket packages sold early...who doesn't like interest compounded daily!

So there is my lunch time soapbox.

On a side note, last year Zac Brown played in Michigan within the time frame of the jam. Fit perfectly for routing, but a missed opportunity. Dont' t miss opportunites, create a great line up!

You can do it.

Well, I'm not going to be so nice I guess. Jammin Country is 7 months away, I've paid for the tickets, they have my money, I've received the tickets and I haven't heard of 1 band announcement for 2010. Pretty sad.

I have to say I may be pessimistic, but I think this will be the last year I attend because it seems 2010 is giong to be a flop.

Convenient that tickets for events such as this are completely NON-REFUNDABLE.

Maybe moondance staff is withholding all information and will "WOW" us all with one big announcement of some good bands for 2010, yet, somehow I doubt that.

Well, I guess that is kinda good news.
It is just frustrating seeing other country festivals setting there lineups or having them the complete :(

And I am being entirely sincere when I say it must be frustrating from Moondance ownership as well; After being invited as a VIP last year to a festival in Wisconsin, it was great to see some of the larger names, but as a whole I wouldn't pay to go back. The Moondance camping/grounds/organzation of the event is top notch, and that alone brings people like me back, I don't need huge headliners, just great music in a great environment.
Here is a bold suggestion, why not partner with the promoter from one of the Wisconsin festivals, (or even Iowa, Illinois); get some great bands without competing against each other for attendance. We would love it to see bands signed earlier, Moondance would love to see increased pre sales, better attendance (more beer sales) and from the bands point of few, two festivals and only a days travel in between, eliminating the dreaded routing consideration.

I know I make it sound easy, but I love coming to both events each year and don't want to see them gone.

And there is another lunch time soapbox rant.
Have a good weekend.

if you still need somebody for earlier slots, you should check out Brantley Gilbert, real talented singer/songwriter http://www.myspace.com/brantleygilbertmusic
