Wednesday night questions

Wednesday night questions

Postby trekguy » Tue Jun 02, 2009 10:57 pm

So, are the Wednesday night bands still playing in the Saloon? We would like to see them, but are wondering what kind of numbers are expected for the night. The prospect of a couple thousand people trying to peak into the Saloon is not that appealing.

Also, website says that concert area opens every day at noon, starting Thursday. Could this mean that Wednesday night's music is for onsite campers only? Will there be casino parking and shuttle on Wednesday night?

Yep it was confirmed a while ago that the bands will be playing the saloon. No-one can be sure of the numbers, but JWG said that any overspill can watch the bands on the jumbotron which will be in use on the night

Nope it's open to everyone with a ticket. Again JWG reported a few weeks ago that shuttles will be running from the casino to the site :D

Ian, you are so helpful! I'd be interested in the numbers for Wednesday night Jammers... just to know how backed up and busy the road in might be. I'll be quite content enjoying the Saloon bands out on the grassy knoll watching on the Jumbo-tron... it's going to be a beautifully perfect night afterall... :D

Hopefully you're right about that.

Beau - any chance of finding out what the procedure is for us non-campers on the Weds night. Normally we'd go pick our bands and passes from Don & Jean, but as VIP wont be open, just wondered how we go about it ;)

Hey, thanks for the info, I figured it had been discussed somewhere, but I wasn't ambitious enough to scour the forums. :D I'm sure there will be a steady stream of campers coming that night as well... but it's good to hear the shuttle will be running... they should have their own lane. Good news on the JumboTrons, as well. I guess we'll have to see how it goes. My hunch is that there is going to be more people there than expected, and it's going to be a bit of a disappointment with the tiny venue.... especially if the weather is nice. I see some problems with congestion at the shuttle entrance/exit for us bus riders, also. Any reasons given for not using the main stage?? Seems a waste not to make use of something that's already there. :?:

As for the main stage not being used, I'm guessing the cost of operating the main stage is pretty high.

I am hoping that so many people show up for Wednesday that next year we'll get the lost day back. Last year they threw around the idea of a tribute band night on the main stage that kind of fizzled. I'm all for a night of tribute bands on the main stage for Wednesday night every year!
The music brought me to Moondance Jam. The people bring me back.

I'm with you, Chris, a tribute band Wednesday night would have been great (some of them are pretty amazing)! Too bad the idea fizzled...

Hey Lisa~

We're in electric somewhere (I don't remember the #)... look for my pink flamingos and you'll find me! :D

No, I'm not VIP (I wish... maybe one of these years). You all go VIP???

I would LOVE to go to the Meet & Greet! Thanks for the personal invite... ya made my day! Would you mind reposting the details (I'm a little confused with all the posts what the final decision is on time). Looking forward to having a drink (or two, or three, or...) with everyone!

Gawd, it all still seems like a long way off...

What camp sites are all you amazing, fun people staying in?
