Dave & Paul - if ya don't need electricity, then either South Reserved or North Reserved... save a little $. My opinion - South Reserved RULES!!! And, yes, we would LOVE for you to be our neighbors!! :D We are in the NE area of South Reserved, as you go up towards the softball fields -- it's actually a very nice - and mostly quiet - part of reserved... altho we often party well into the night, too 8-) We have 7 sites right around SR685, here's a link to South Reserved: http://www.moondancejam.com/maps-southreserved.html. There are actually a whole heap of Jammers right near us - and EVERY ONE is within walking, stumbling, beer drinking distance! There's a quick route to North Reserved, and a bit more of a walk to General. Some of our FAVE peeps are in SR Electrical, and we make many walks daily over there, too!! From where we are at, you can hear the concerts so if you don't for some reason make it over there, you can still hear it - altho I'm sure that's true from near everywhere at Moondance. When you call to make your reservations tell them what you want and they'll steer ya the right direction - even the people on the phone are fantastic. All the reserved campgrounds are nicely run, clean, and I'd say 99.726395% of Jammers are cool! You're gonna have a blast. Let us know what / where you decide! And make sure you come on by...Camp Howler, SR685++

Hi Davage and welcome! Here's a tip....the sites in reserved are 20x30 (feet). I've camped with a 14x9 tent, 12x12 screenhouse, one toyota rav4, and had a tiny "yard" left over on my site. It sounds to me like you won't have a problem at all as long as your tents aren't super huge. 10x10 or 10x12 should be fine. It's funny - girls will share a tent but guys won't. My husband is the same way as you when he goes on his annual guy trip. You guys just need your space! I bring earplugs because I absolutely cannot fall asleep when music is playing. There is music playing pretty late (4am or so) sometimes in the campgrounds. The wee bit of sleep I try to get becomes pretty important. If you can figure out how to get your tent shaded from the east, you can gain on hour or more of shade in the morning - more sleeping time. Bring thick steel tent pegs and a sledgehammer, the ground is like cement when it's dry. If your sunshade doesn't have sides, bring an old sheet or two to make shade if you want. I hope this helps you out!!!

Ist Time Reserve Campers

The thing I have noticed with the camp grounds is the further north you there is bit more partying going on later
at night. So if you want party later, stay in the north reserve and if you want it bit quieter stay in south.
(if you want to party all night stay in General)

Either place you are going to love it, people stop by and visit and you get to be one big family. You
will love Moondance and camping! We stayed in a cabin for years until we started camping a few years ago
and have loved it and never will go back to the cabin. Especially nice in reserve is you can go back between
bands for refreshments or to hang. Heck, some campers never leave their site for the 4 days they just listen
to the music from their site. Best of all, of course, you never have to drive! Couple hints: if you are going to
shower at 2pm bring a refreshment or two, makes the wait much more fun. Bring a canopy for shade, costs $75
but it will be a great investment if it is sunny and you can bring it every year.

I truly appreciate all of the feedback. By the sounds of it, I'll be ordering a campsite in Reserved South. I enjoy a good night's sleep. I also enjoy getting up at 6AM, sipping on a coffee and enjoying watching the sun come up while listening to some 70's tunes at low volume.

I'm ordering the tickets this week. This forum has provided excellent feedback.

Just because your campsite is in South Reserved doesn't mean you can't visit up to general for some party action..... :D

I'm sure I'll be venturing from one end of the camping areas to the other to party for a bit . :headbang: :headbang:

(but I'll make my "home" in Reserved South where I can get some sleep 8-) ) I'm getting too old to party all night long..

Last year there were some golf cart cabs that were well worth the fare to General after the show.
