Questions from a 1st time Jammer..

Greetings. Never been to Moondance, but this year's lineup has finally convinced me to get a ticket. I went to every year of Rockin the Hills, so I am a veteran of the classic rock fest scene.

I was wondering what campsite you all would recommend?

Thanks

Camping right at the event is the best in my opinion! I've called the South Reserved area "Home" for 2 years.. This year the South Reserved Electrical is going to be home. I couldn't imagine going off-site at all during the jam :)

It is great to be able to walk from the concert area back to the tent for the night.

I've been to the fest in Bottineau ND every year too. I loved it all. This year will be my 17th year at Moondance Jam. I've camped in North Reserved, General, North Wooded, and South Reserved. For me my favorite spot to camp is either North or South Reserved. General seems to be too noisy for me to sleep when I want too.

The only down side of South Reserve is the crazy bunch over at Camp Howler and Margarittaville having way too much fun. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

PS That was sarcasm I have no problems with Camp Howler and Margarittaville.

Close Proximity to Camp Howler means that you will have a LOT of fun.. I'm sort of saddened that I'm further away from Camp Howler this year. But I guess that means that I'll see more of the Camp Hippy crew this year.

I feel safe no matter where we're camping. When we're at Moondance, we are amongst friends.

Thanks for the intel. Also, what kind of booze do the bars in the concert grounds serve? Is it just tap beer, or can you get mixed drinks as well?

Coming from Dallas ... credit DirecTV with turning me on to this festival, didn't know it existed until I was watching Buckcherry's performance from last year. Wow! My wife and I are sorry we missed the first 19, but will be there this year! She insisted on VIP, so we are going all-out. Never been north of Tulsa, should be a helluva trip. Looking forward to jammin' with y'all in July (and looking forward to some relief from July Texas heat!).

:D :D you'll love it, what an adventure! Come on by Camp Howler!!

Hey trublu txn just a heads up so you won't be dissapointed, when you get here, if you have not purchased 3nights of camping with your tickets you can't get into the campgrounds at all. only the concert area. looks like it would cost another $130.00 each. $20.00ea more after the 15th of march

trublu....you will LOVE the Jam. It will be wortth every mile on your vehicle. Make sure to explore the whole facility. Not only the main stage, but the regional stages too. Wander through the campgrounds and meet the coolest people. There is a reason it is called the campin and jammin event of the summer!

You can get tap, mixed...something for every one as there are 3 bars (MDJ Saloon, Lazy Moon Saloon, and the Tikki Bar, plus a Billy's Backstage Bar and VIP that require special passes and several beer booths too. Food is plentyful and a wide selection. And gosh, you never know what you will find out in the campsites.

Well, we just signed on with some new sponsors... I'm guessing that you will see them a lot at the beer tents. Both the Lazy Moon Backstage Bar and Moondance Saloon have full bars also.
