Liquor Store Suggestions?

Postby Davage » Mon May 30, 2011 11:32 am

I'm not a new Jammer, but I figured that I'd ask this question in the New Jammer area just as a general question.

We are coming from Canada. Liquor here in Canada is insanely priced, so we will be buying all of my campsite liquor in the USA.

We will be spending Tuesday night in Duluth MN and will be heading out to Moondance Jam on Weds morning. Duluth is the only 'major' city that we will see during our trek from the Sault Ste Marie (Ontario/Michigan) area until we reach Walker.

Are there any liquor stores in Walker who are official sponsors of Moondance Jam, and might be having some "Moondance" specials? Are there any liquor stores in Duluth that are a "Must See"?

Last time I went to Moondance, I stopped at a huge liquor store in Minneapolis/St Paul. I was in shock as to how awesome it was. :)

Any suggestions on where I can buy a few bottles would be appreciated. I'm bringing Canadian Beer (purchased as an import in Sault Michigan for less than half the price than it is in Canada).

Last year VW, Hippy and the rest of Camp Nisswa took me to a great place in I think it was Baxter. That was where I bought my rocket fuel Southern Comfort very cheap :D

I'm curious... Is Liquor expensive in the UK?

A 26 oz (750 ml) bottle of Smirnoff Lime Twist Vodka here is $26.45

Depends where you buy it. That version of vodka has only just been made available here so will cost more. But most supermarkets always have deals on beer. On TV last night one was offering 3 boxes of Bud or San Miguel (12 or 15 bottle packs) for £20.
When you go out it depends on the type of pub or bar you go to. My local it costs about £2.40 for beer (proper beer lol) or £2.80 for lager :D, but we were paying £3+ for Stella in Newcastle last Friday. Big city prices

WOW!.. What a bargain! :)

If the prices of liquor here were the same as the USA, it would cause road blocks.. It may sound strange, but if gas prices here in Ontario were as cheap as the USA, it would cause lineups at the pump.

Gas here today is $1.28 per Litre ($4.84 per gallon)
