Buffett at Alpine Valley Questions

Hope it's cool using these boards to ask about a different venue. Wondering if anybody's been to Alpine Valley (East Troy, WI) and if any of the "local" camp grounds or hotels offer a shuttle service. Googling it wasn't real encouraging. Found one service running a shuttle that looks like a blast, but it's damn near a $100. That's not including a room at the pick up/drop off hotel apx 45 miles away, or the ticket. It is likely Dino will participate fully in said event and well, I probably won't be far behind. How to get "home" safe after the show? No such worries at Moondance!

it's been years since i've been to alpine valley. back then, we'd go there with no place to stay and always find a room or a tent.
great place for live music.

anyhoo...

Thanks, Doc .

What the hell...took the hit and will be taking a ride on the Volcano Express and staying at the hotel where they pick up/drop off. When you consider the eats, booze and parking (not to mention potential legal issues) it's prolly the way to go. So...we're paying for tickets ($), the shuttle package mentioned above ($), and hotel ($). Really couldn't find another way to do it.

Makes me appreciate the Moondance experience all the more.

Alpine Valley is one of my least favorite sheds. Parking?...fagetaboutit. Plan on waiting an average of 2-3 hours to get out at the end of the night. Your shuttle might be a good idea. Bathrooms?...fagetaboutit, unless you plan on climbing to the top of the hill. Beer lines?...fagetaboutit. See a trend? I paid 4 bucks for a bottle of water that they proceeded to poor it into a paper cup.

It's in the midle of nowhere and hard to find. There are very few signs. Just follow the traffic.

If it's sold out, which it probably will be for Buffet plan on horribly congested unsanitary conditions.

The only good thing about Alpine Valley is the tailgating.
