Jackyl - Jam Saturday at 7pm

My Take:
Hard to believe it has been 11 years since Jackyl last played the Jam stage. I remember that day well as it was day 1 of what was then a 4-day festival and none other than Def Leppard were the closing band that day. I've said it many time in forum about the electricity in the air that day and Jackyl started the day off with their trademark style. I'll never forget that day! I have seen the band many times over the years at a lot of different venues and they always bring it to the stage. They are a perfect rock festival type band because you don't have to be a huge fan of the band to enjoy their show. Many of their songs are sing-alongs that even a casual fan will be able to sing along to. Their self-titled debut in 1992 spun off enough hits to keep them going now over 25 years later. Their setlist relies on that album heavily as it should. The fact that their hits "I Stand Alone," "When Will It Rain," "Dirty Little Mind," Down On Me," and "The Lumberjack" were all on the same album is quite astonishing. If you haven't seen a chainsaw onstage you will for this show, I can guarantee it. Jesse James Dupree always wields the chainsaw during their shows. He will encourage you to party more than any other jam performer this year. This band is all about a good time and all the jam attendees I ever met have the same mindset. This will be a good one.
