Bio (From their website)
One of the most powerful and cutting edge female fronted rock acts of the 70's and 80's was the band HEART. Ann and Nancy Wilson set the standard for future female artists, opening the door for women to be a part of a predominately male run music business, and creating some of the greatest and most recognized songs in music history.

Recreating the passion and power of an institution like HEART isn't an easy task for a tribute band, which probably explains why there are less than a dozen Heart tributes currently working in the United States. The Bad Animals are one of the select few that capture the raw energy of a live HEART concert.
The Bad Animals are made up of several of the most accomplished and recognized musicians from the region: Lisa Ebbers and Wendy Miller on Lead Vocals, Tim Davis on drums, Aaron Carlson on Bass and Vocals, Leni DiMancari on Guitar & Vocals and Polo Zetina on Keyboards.
The band has been touring for 7 years now and has become a 'Must See' Act at outdoor Festivals, Nightclubs and Casinos. They have played for the last 5 years at Moondance Jam in Walker, MN, along with many major midwest fairs and festivals. Their show spans 3 Decades of Multi platinum HEART Music, performing their Chart Topping Singles, Rock Classics and Arena Rock Power Ballads.
The Bad Animals were nominated by the Minnesota Music Academy in 2006 for a Minnesota Music Awards for Best Tribute Band and Best Cover Band. The Band have been dubbed one of the hottest Tribute bands on the circuit, and give an energetic performance capturing the Power & Energy of HEART.
Catch the Bad Animals this year on the Rockin Heaven Down 2012 Tour!

My Take

I have seen The Bad Animals perform at all five of their Moondance Jam appearances, starting with their early afternoon performance in the saloon way back in 2007. I have always liked the music of Heart and I made the trek to the jam early that day just to see their show and I was blown away. I remember sitting with Ian watching them and thinking they need to be closing the saloon, not opening it. Sure enough, that performance led to them closing the saloon a night the next year. Last year they opened Moondance Jam 20 on the Mainstage at the Pre Jam Party and played a great set of Heart classics that had the crowd going. Their set in the Lazy Moon also sounded great – that was a great way to start Jam Thursday last year. Now they will be opening the Pre Jam Party again. With Heart closing this year, Moondance will start and end with Heart music on the Mainstage. I recently talked with guitarist/vocalist Leni DiMancari and he said they will be playing some Heart B-sides, as well as songs by Led Zeppelin and The Who that Heart regularly cover. He said they would be changing it up since Heart is closing the jam this year. Leni is not just a performer but he is a fan of Moondance Jam and I am certain the band will keep playing the jam as long as they will have them. I am still hopeful to one day catch their full 2 hour plus show they play on their regular tour.
