I am sending some Canadian love.................."As The Men Without Hats say"
We can dance if we want to.
We can leave your friends behind.
Cause' your friend don't dance,
and if they don't dance, well they're
no friends of mine.
Say, we can go where we want to.
A place where they will never find.
And we can act like we come from out of this world.
Leave the real one far behind.
Sounds like Moondance to Me!

Went to see CHICAGO at T.I. last night, even with a killer back ache, they were outstanding!! been busy so I haven't been on here much, or even home much. Big hi to Camp Howler, and Wen and all. Been reading about the "new lawnchair policy" Except for the added charge, that is kind of how it has worked in the past, the sight line behind the sound board area has always been left open as an aisle just because you can't see anything so no big deal.

Years ago the Shower guys mentioned that MDJ was about the only venue they did that did not charge for showers. I'd guess their prices probably went up and had to be passed on. On a plus side, maybe they will be open more during the day to help cut down the morning lines (?)

I dont have any problem with charging for the showers, in fact I was surprised to hear a couple of years ago that they were free. Just to add to Davage's thought about whether VIP'ers would have to pay. What about disabled jammers? There must be a number of jammers who are unable to stand, and have always brought chairs to see the acts. Will they be penalised for the fact that they HAVE to sit? Also regarding Chris' point as to the maps, if this new charge area is directly behind the soundboard/lighting area, and has a beer tent in the eyeline as well now, would you pay an extra $10/20 for an obstructed view

Hello to all of my fellow Jammers!
This will be trip number 11 to the wonderful Moondance Jam for me and I have always stood somewhere for the shows or just wandered aimlessly and listened. This year presents a new challenge, I have been battling a serious illness (the kind that is not contagious) and some times I "run out of gas" just standing. I think it's sorta like dirty pool to announce a chair parking fee so late in the game.

That's enough said, see you all there.

Out, Paddy

Hi Philly! Good to hear from you.

I'm sorry to say that I won't be seeing you at MDJ21, but we certainly will be there for MDJ22!

In regards to the whole chair tax... (and that's what I call it - a "tax", because most taxes aren't fair..) Ian has a good point. What about people who are disabled, or just those who have bad knees and need to sit down. I'm sure that a lawyer could somehow spin this into a 'discrimination' case against Moondance for charging people with disabilities a 'fee'. Let's admit it. We're all getting older, and we all eventually will be in the category of jammers who need to sit down. Let's not penalize those jammers - we should thank them for coming out and partying with us.

Paying for showers - I've got no issue with that... I also was surprised when I first attended the Jam to find out that they were 'free'. Paying a few dollars for a shower is no big deal.
