Just saw an add for Buckcherry playing at Northern Lights, Aug. 10. Quite a catch, should sell quick. But if plans stay on track, I won't be here that weekend anyway :D

But after a night of heavy drinking, falling down in the dirt, etc - a shower sure feels nice in the morning :) I've paid for showers at other events, and I certainly will be one of the jammers who has a shower each day, even if it costs me a few dollars.

I am of the opinion that they should just increase the ticket price by $10 per person and be done with the silly 'taxes'. 20,000 jammers X $10 = $200,000 That should cover showers and allow the chair people to sit down.

Do people with VIP tags get free showers and chair positions, or do they need to pay too?

VIP have their own chairs in the VIP section.
The music brought me to Moondance Jam. The people bring me back.

I agree David (and I feel bad, like I was attacking you, but I just wanted to voice an opinion, sorry ) but I think it's just fine to pay for showers. I did it at HWJ and it's well worth it.

I have more to say (when don't I LOL!) but I'm organizing my thoughts :D :D :D :D

Moondance has always allowed the VIP attendees a lot of freedom to go and hide out in the VIP area, or to go down front and Jam in the sunshine. IF a VIP ticket holder wants to set up a lawn chair instead of sitting inside the VIP area, I was curious if they were going to have to pay the lawn chair tax too.

There is no doubt that Moondance is still the best festival for my party dollars. It's worth the price of admission alone to have the ability to party with the Camp Howler and Camp Hippy crews! I just hope that a toll booth doesn't get set up in the camp area to tax people going from area to area.

Just one thing, the tribute bands are at 3:00 with one at 5:00. Otherwise all national acts, don't mind when people complain, but don't make stuff up. There are no tribute bands at 7, and April Wine and Cavo are the other 5:00 acts...can't wait to see both of them!

I've gone to my happy place.

When I bought my ticket it said festival seating either honor that or give me a refund.

so....this would be a bad time to bring up the Camp Howler entry fees?! LOLOLOL Just trying to lighten the mood. I'm a glass is half to 3/4 to nearly fully, cheerleader type. I've spent money on stupider stuff, and I spend boatloads for stuff for Camp Howler, so another $20 isn't too big a deal to me. I get the gripe that this announcement could've been brought to our attention sooner, or added in to ticket prices. I do get that. I just don't see it as a big deal. I haven't brought a chair in for the past few Jams, but this year I'll probably have to since the Great Ankle Event of 2011, I'm more wobbly than ever these days :D

I guess my big fear is....what's next? Do they section off the pit and start charging to stand in the pit? (pit passes..hehe).

If they need an extra $20 per person..fine. Add to the price of the ticket. But, why punish the lawn chair people? And, adding the beer tent behind the light tower...how goofy. Really? I've sat in the lawn chair section for years, and it's never been a concern of anyone I know, to be waited on by "strolling vendors". I do recall they have done this in the past (was it last year?). The lawn chair people sit in their chairs for the show, then they get up and go get something to drink or eat and use the restrooms..then, they come back to their seats. We don't expect to be catered to.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

I think that the only announcement that would make me decide to not attend Moondance next year would be to say that it is going to be renamed Moon - "DANCE" Jam, where it is all boy bands, hip-hop artists, or that repetitive thump-thump-thump electronic dance type music. There is a reason why rap is almost spelled the same as CRAP. :)

I'll be there next year. :D I'll just save up a few extra bucks for showers and maybe for the chair 'tax'. and in case there is Camp Howler admission levy/tax/surcharge, I'll bring along a case of Canadian beer :)
