I have (4) extra tickets for Bachman & Turner tonight at Northern Lights Casino in Walker.... Reserved 6th row, front center gold section. $125 takes them all.

Moondance has had to organize the lawn chair seating area into a grid to maximize the concert area. Don't worry, it will be comfortable (not "jammered" sardines). The down side for fans is that there will be a $20/weekend or $10/day chair fee. The up side is that vendors will be able to roam the area and a beer tent will be added behind the sound and light deck for an added convenience. Moondance chairs will also be available for $50 (weekend lawn chair seating included). It will NOT be a roped off area and GA can make their way through the area and if someone wants to sit on the hillside where there are no chairs, no problem.

Honestly, this is a two-fold solution to two problems.
#1 is space in the concert area. Last year we saw the most we have ever seen out there and all sight lines were maxed out. Organizing the chair rows will allow for more people in the concert area and for a better flow of traffic around the grounds.
#2 is obviously added revenue. Moondance has been providing festival seating for 20 years and really wants to continue with that because we know that is what most jammers want and makes us unique. Unfortunately, for Moondance to keep getting big acts and to grow and keep getting big acts, some things have to give because costs keep going up. Just look at all of the other festivals around the area and country. They have huge dollar VIP up front, then a gold, silver, titanium, platinum (pick a metal - I prefer heavy), reserved lawn level 1, etc. etc. So two things that have to go are free showers and free lawn chair seating. I know there will be some people that are bummed out about this, but it will be a huge help in helping the Jam grow.

wow.... should have been announced a lot sooner than 3 weeks before the jam IMO or work it into next years ticket prices... not something you throw out there this close - just saying .. been in marketing a long time. I think it could have been done differently. I personally don't have a problem donating $20 to make it go but its the way you're doing it that isn't going to sit well with a lot of people... ok - like I said my opinion and I am a very roll with the punches kinda gal

So in a nutshell, we have to pay to put our lawnchairs down and where they are they stay. So if you arrive on Thursday or late wednesday you may get a seat 7000 feet from the stage and never have the opportunity to move forward.....I'm sorry but that does not sit well. We took out Wednesday headliners, we cut down national acts by 5 or ten bands, the alcohol keeps going up, the food keeps going up and now we are limited to where we can sit. I love Moondance Jam, it is the best festival in the nation, but this is wrong. My ticket cost the same as anyone else but if I arrive late I might get a good seat and I might not. Cmon MDJ, I'll pay the extra 20 bucks and I will wake up early so I can put my seat where I want......

The showers are a bit more of a concern to me, but if I don't care to pay I'll find a way to clean up some way else. The beaches should be busier than usual because of this. I don't live too terribly far away either, just prefer not to drive. Meh, I'll live. When the PTB chew on the feedback and crunch numbers after this year, maybe next year will see a different course of action. Who knows.

It won't affect me because we go vip, and I have been nothing but positive on here...that said coming out with this stuff 3 weeks before the jam seems to be a bad idea. Should have thrown it out there as a possibility for next year and gone from there. With all the griping about the acts and such it seems a bad thing to throw on top of everything else.

Rant done....can't wait for the jam...hurry up 18th!
