It's pretty simple, you're paying money for the music. Camping and drinking with friends doesn't cost this much. It is about the music. If you're not at a concert for the music, why go? Who in there right mind spends $ just for the chance to go and spend $(beer, food, etc) and not get something out of it(ie, GOOD, QUALITY tunes). Moondance(& every other fest) will die out if the music doesn't come because the people won't come, again, simple.
P.S.
There is no way in hell that APRIL WINE is a 5:00 band, come on!

because some of us see the glass half full and some insist it's half empty... and some just wanna shoot the glass of the table cuz it's not filled with what they think is should be filled with. Yes. It's the bands. I mean, duh, it's a music fest. But it's more than that, too. Why am I even posting. Clearly some of us have all the answers. And some of do too. Steven, I wish I was buzzed, too. Also, to those of you who won't even see this because you chose to leave the page, you let the neggie nellies win. You had the way change it, you didn't. Nothing gold can stay.[/quote]

Wow, I had to mix another drink just to read all the posts!
Sorry to say but the simple solution is end this board. Oh no, did he just say that, yes I did.

On the night of Kid Rock, the campgrounds will be full, the concert grounds packed, beer will be flowing (hoping for great weather!) and the beer servers will be saying "Damn, this is alot of people!"
Really, on any given day of Moondance, there must be on average 8,000 folks in attendance, low side I'm sure, looking at the foks that post here, using a number of 75, less than 1%. Just saying, for the negativity on this board under user names, just not worth the headache.
Facebook serves the same purpose, and it would make JWG's job much easier. I actually have never met JWG, but I'm sure he has more valuable things to do then to babysit this board. Example being, Gannett News; no longer can you post comments about news stories under a user name; now all done through Facebook.
Not sure if I have any valuable point in this rant, and I have other thoughts to say but again not that important. I have a cocktail to finish, new bands to discover and need to ponder my new drink shot for Jammin Country.....oh yes I go to both, and each deserves its own unique shot! And neither should end, each is a unique business and ending is a business decision, not a decision made on a board that they maintain.
Remember Folks, this is a business; They try their best to maximize their profits within the means they have available to them. Wow seems so simple.

I'm John Hennessy and I have a MoonMobile, the greatest non motorized, alcohol delivery system to push around the Moondance Grounds and I approved this message.

I think the phrase that readily comes to mind is 'you can't please all the people all the time!!!'

I can see both sides of the argument here, and I have sat on both sides of the fence. The problem as I see it now, is that if enough people take the view that they aren't getting value for money, then next year they either wont buy tickets early or worse wont buy at all. I know this may sound negative, but sometimes the truth often is. If that scenario pans out, and I pray that it doesn't, then my fear will be that the festival is on a downward spiral. I have seen it happen many times over here. If festivals as big a Arrow Rock in Holland and Sonisphere here in England can go to the wall, then any can.

I'm not as good at cheerleading as Lisa is, but those who know me through either meeting me at the Jam or just posting here will know, I have always taken the Jam's 'side' in arguments and discussions, as I do think it's worth fighting for. My only hope is that Kathy, Jon and the rest of the management will take on board the feelings of the paying customers, and take the appropriate steps to ensure the jam continues for many years to come.

I'm a little bummed this morning, I just lost the rest of my MDJ crew...now it's only me and my sister going. I guess they all thought Saturday's line-up wasn't strong enough, oh well. :( I guess I don't blame them, in all honesty, we do have 2 cover bands playing the main stage on Saturday. :|

I agree with all of that, too, Ian. Except my pom-poms are wilted. I, too, root on the side of the Jam as I also believe it's fighting for. I just can't believe how some are so blasting angry. It is "just" a music festival, after all, we're not after your first born or your favorite appendage. To get so upset because we have a certain Jam closer? I don't get it. I get that the Jam means a lot to many (duh) but it is just one year, and it's just music. Plus, like many, I believe we do have a decent Jam. Kid Rock is going to be huge! And there's a little bit of everything, plus a few more to go. Tributes aren't the real bands but they are the best out there, not just your local bar bands but the best from LA. Funny most were just fine with ThundHerStruck playing the main stage... Whatever, I'm done arguing. Some just have their minds set to not be happy. It's clear to me there's more going on than being displeased with MDJ. I'll miss them, and I hope they'll reconsider forever not coming back.

As far as Moon Mobile and this page going away, it could happen. It would be sad cuz the negativity would have killed it. We've made a lot of friends on here. We've had a ton of wonderful converations. We've learned a lot from our music officianatos, ie Chris, Ian, Andy, etc. We've kept the feeling of Moondance alive.

I don't work for the Jam. I wish I did. But I believe in it. And I hope this page sticks around, and I hope the Jam continues. I'm on FB, too. Camp Howler has a page as well.

Later. Have an awesome day.

Ok, after reading all the pages and annual bunch of negative posts I need to put in my two cents. We have been fixture at the Jam for years and it comes down to one thing for $. For the price of your Jam ticket (not camping cuz that is the party part) you can see ONE good band in an arena. So there are what, 15 national bands on stage? Pick the one you like the most and thats what you paid for, the rest are gravy. Duh.
