Ian, can I reserve the other bed in your room for tuesday night if we come early next year, since i have a tent planting it on the cement just isn't an option. Plus I think it might be impossible....hahahha :o

Bill & Kathy,

Thank You so much for the creation of this amazing event! For this man from Southwest Florida, it was most definately worth the long trip - and I fully intend to return next year despite the shortened format. I've read where many people on this message board have indicated that they'd definately want to see the 5 day camping aspect retained. I'd like to reinforce that point of view!! It is quite obvious to me that there are a tremendous amount of wonderful people that have made a tradition of coming together for this event, and the fellowship that has built up over the years is a truly heart-warming thing to behold! While I believe I have scratched the surface of that so to speak, I aspire to further immerse myself in this fellowship in the coming years.

To me it's quite simple really............................ more camping equalls increased & stronger fellowship among the PEOPLE who - along with great concerts & your tireless efforts, are the true driving force behind this AWESOME event!!!

I was hoping to meet you while up there, but that never materialized. I'm hoping to somehow get that opportunity next time!!!

I just now realized that I can keep MDJ as being a 4-day vacation for me. I can simply become one of those "earlier campers". Whew!! Looks like I won't miss out on a full day afterall.

Someone mentioned that Bill said this was the weakest numbers (fans) in 5 years. BUT five six and seven years ago it was still four days and the job was still getting done quite well. I think that if this is true (it probably is, we ALL saw this coming with the weak lineup not to mention weather and fourth of july being the previous weekend) then instead of changing the formula to get people back, FIND THE OLD ONE THAT BROUGHT THEM HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. The one that brought me and my group there. I'm sorry but this seems like a situation where the party planning committee shot themselves in the foot and now the loyal must pay. you want small crowds... A line up anywhere near like last years that is only three days long and you will find a small crowd... Then I'd just save the money and not even put up a stage cause you'd be killing my favorite event of the year... OUR favorite event of the year. Moondance JAM "squeezin' "18

The numbers were down all around, numerous music festivals, except for that unspeakable goat-ropin' 'THEY-FEST' in DL. It was almost a touch of a perfect storm scenario for MDJ this year....weather, proximity to the 4th. of July, and economy putting a damper on not only people who can afford to come, but the availability and cost of bands as well. I understand Bill had 3 Doors Down and Rush signed for a while going into Sizzlin' 17, but couldn't hang onto them, something about it being 'classic' or something. Hypothetically, had they been signed and kept, along with Billy Idol staying in the states a little longer to have played at MDJ...you gotta admit, the lineup would have been significantly better and the numbers would probably not have dropped off much, if at all. Times are a bit tough. I don't point my fingers at anyone that has control. Bill already has at least 4 bids out for next year. They put a lot of time and effort in putting together as best a lineup as they can. But sometimes, things just seem to work against the effort. Hats off to Bill and Kathy, once again, and good luck.

Cheers!

Doug

Okay, Bill and Kathy, gotta put in my 2 cents about VIP and the Meet and Greets. I drive 15 hours to do VIP and the Meet and Greets. I know a few other people who drive days or fly in from way outta state. We pay extra for a chance to meet a band BUT when on stage slots are sold or meet and greet are given away to non-VIP or other means outside of Tom doing the official draw it just blows! It makes me and others wonder why we are paying a lot of extra money to do VIP and driving or flying for hours to watch our meet and greets be sold or given away outside VIP. I saw a few other people mention this too so it's not just me seeing this happening. I understand the Powers That Be have millions of friends soooooooooooooooo...hook them up with VIP tickets don't sell us out. I understand the pressure must be enormous but have a heart for those who travel so far. Don't ruin this special event for us. Thanks for your time and consideration!!!! Luv Yas FireSprite
