So do you think the dates will be changing form the third weekend in July?

The book (with Mr. B on the back) had an add stating Jam 21 would be July 12-14, 2012... but now I actually don't know. Seems a mystery they aren't announcing the actual dates - or prices - til Monday. Am I an odd duck for thinking that?

the banner on the Moondance Jam site says the dates are July 19-21, 2012... a week later than previously posted... coincidentally the same weekend as that 'other' fest. Oh well, just glad it's scheduled!!!

Puts the Half Moon Loooonacy off a tad (before, it was exactly half way, now it’s a week early, but that just makes up for our antsy~ness)… Well, actually that could change too, dependent on the band bookings for NLC…. Stay tuned…

Im a little suprised by the dates also-- unless the other "fest" plays nice this year... we did give them Stone Temple Pilots when their headliners fell through! Hoping that with the other other Wisconsin fest.. there might be more bands heading up this way.. It worked for Kiss this year.

well this just plain sucks..... This is the same weekend as our reunion which I am not missing...... GEEZ why did you have to change the date ???????

This could be tough on my fellow Cabin Jammers. The owners of the cabin who host us each year, rent it out the rest of the summer. They held the normal dates open, and booked the next week. Negotiations are on to see if the people will trade weeks. If not, there will probably be 10 less Jammers this year. This has to affect a lot of people who make reservations at hotels, resorts and cabins all over the Walker area. Hopefully we can figure something out.

I made a little inquiry on this dates stuff… and the reasoning is logical… the Fourth of July is the middle of the previous week (2012 being a Leap Year it pushes everything up by 2 days instead of one) and my source stated they learned a while back that being too close to the 4th hurts attendance. Makes sense. The second reasoning… this one makes me nervous… so I’ll post it just like my source said it to me: “#2 - With two other rock festivals the same weekend, we have a better chance of getting a band or two to route our way. More if RF plays nice...”

A good 11 months to get our plans together, hope those with conflicts can get them worked out. Ontario Rocker, that really bites! Don’t suppose it’s early enough to get the Reunion Committee to pick a different weekend?!? My reunions are easy – I either didn’t/don’t get invited and/or I just don’t go. Yeah, wasn’t a big fan of HS and people I don’t really care to ever see again. I’m weird that way…

Now, we need Happy Thoughts that RF plays nice (yeah, right, can I say buttheads on here?) and that it all comes together nicely. Camp Howler’s already making plans!!

I forgot to end on a positive note before...really, I had planned on it and got distracted...the fact that there is a Jam next year is really good news!!! That made my day!!
I'm sure we will figure something out. Hopefully, just a minor bump in the road for us. MDJ has been such a big part of summer for so many years, I can't imagine missing it.
