History of the Guesthouse
The land was purchased from the United States Gov. by Anton A Berg in 1917 for the price of $300.00. He operated a dairy farm with over 200 head. Along with cattle he had pigs, goats, chickens. The original house he built is now the shed along the existing house. The 5 bedroom home that is the Guesthouse was built by him in 1938.
In 1944 he sold to Ivan J. Aultman. In the Walker area it's known as the old Aultman Farm - Donna Smith was one of his children (Dona & Russ). They sold it to Robert Emery in 1961 and the Emery's sold it to us in 1996. The house was completely remodeled in the winter of 2004 by Nanci Negaard Design Company.
